#SongoftheDay Fairest Lord Jesus (Truro Cathedral)

I've mentioned before that my partner and I are not religious people, but that he was raised in a very religious household.

The other day, he was going through letters he'd held on to because they meant something to him. One was from his mother, who died more than a decade ago. In this letter, she wrote to him about a time he almost died as an infant. He had a very serious medical condition that required surgery the day after it was discovered. If he hadn't received the above-and-beyond medical treatment he did from his GP, he probably would have died as a baby.

His mother outlines how his doctor had given orders to the hospital for treatment overnight. In the middle of the night, she (the doctor) woke up, went to the hospital, and asked staff if her orders had been followed. They had not. She instructed hospital staff again to get on it, but they were hesitant (to take orders from a female doctor, perhaps?...just conjecture on my part...). It took a whole lot of pushing to get them to follow her instructions.

That evening, when my partner was a baby in a hospital, his mother and father prayed for his health. The hospital actually called them at one point to say he probably wouldn't make it through the night. And maybe he wouldn't have, if they hadn't finally followed the doctor's instructions.

In her letter, my partner's mother attributes the doctor waking up in the night and heading to the hospital to her prayers. She was certain God heard those prayers and woke up the doctor so she'd go to the hospital.

His mother also writes that she kept thinking of this hymn that night, which is why I've chosen it as today's song of the day. (I chose this version because Truro made me think of Doc Martin, and I like that show.)

If you're wondering how you can support me in bringing you songs and visits every day, the easiest thing you can do is tell your friends about the site. Tell anyone you know--particularly people who are isolated and enjoy music.

Readers of adult fiction can also buy my books or check them out from your local library. Supporting my AudioErotica endeavour on Patreon would also help me hugely!

I'm also an Amazon Influencer, so hopefully I can make a little pocket change when you buy stuff by clicking through my affiliate links.

But you don't HAVE to do any of that. I'm very happy to get a daily visit from you, so just keep coming back.

Oh, and I also recommend hitting the "Subscribe" button at the top of the page so you won't miss a song!

See you tomorrow!
