When I was a kid, I thought I wrote this song. Turns out I did not. But neither did the composers of the musical Kismet, from which this song comes. The tune was written by Alexander Borodin. We'll listen to that tomorrow.

If you're of my generation, you might know this tune as the theme song from Married With Children.  I'm sure I've mentioned in the past that I wasn't "allowed" to watch Married With Children. I remember it airing daily in syndication, maybe at 11 at night?  No, 11:30.  I know I shouldn't joke about having been neglected as a child, but you'll often catch me saying it was really easy to get away with watching shows I wasn't supposed to watch when there were no conscious/sober adults around. So I did watch Married With Children more often than I should have, even though I didn't like it. This song was playing in the background of a party scene on an episode of Bergerac I watched the other day. When I looked it up, I realized I never knew what it was actually called. I have always misheard the lyrics as "we know the night..."  This is my first time listening with headphones. I mentioned the other day that there were more sad posts to come.  Well, here we go. One of my cats has been very sick and I had to have him put down the other day.   Can't get much sadder than that.
