#SongoftheDay Those Were The Days (Mary Hopkin)

This song popped into my head the other day when I was making pasta for dinner. My partner was like, "I'll make the salad," and I said, "We can't have salad. We're out of lettuce."

As I watched his face fall (this dude LOVES salads), it occurred to me that only a few short weeks (months?) ago, we could have popped out to the produce market down the street and bought a head of lettuce. We could have gone together!

Now, if we're out of lettuce, we wait until the next big shopping expedition. There's no popping into shops anymore. The quickest turnaround we've had at a supermarket is an hour and a half.

I don't want to sound complain-y. I am extremely grateful to have enough to eat. There are so many people who are struggling much more than we are. Anyway, I have a lot of experience making do with very little.

Not having lettuce is hardly the end of the world.

But, much in the spirit of this song, it was nice to be able to go out and grab one little thing for dinner. Those were the days!

If you're wondering how you can support me in bringing you songs and visits every day, the easiest thing you can do is tell your friends about the site. Tell anyone you know--particularly people who are isolated and enjoy music.

Readers of adult fiction can also buy my books or check them out from your local library. Supporting my AudioErotica endeavour on Patreon would also help me hugely!

I'm also an Amazon Influencer, so hopefully I can make a little pocket change when you buy stuff by clicking through my affiliate links.

But you don't HAVE to do any of that. I'm very happy to get a daily visit from you, so just keep coming back.

Oh, and I also recommend hitting the "Subscribe" button at the top of the page so you won't miss a song!

See you tomorrow!
