#SongoftheDay Good Morning babe (Kimmortal)

Yesterday we listened to Snotty Nose Rez Kids and I mentioned their album Trapline is full of collaborations. One of their tracks features Kimmortal, a musician I wasn't familiar with. So I looked them up, and it turns out they're a queer Vancouver-based artist.

This track of theirs spoke to me particularly, because it reminded me of a very specific moment: waking up next to my partner and looking at his face and feeling overwhelmingly fortunate and grateful to have him next to me in bed.

A lot of people can't be with the ones they love right now--for a lot of reasons.

We just found out a member of my partner's extended family has died. He had cancer. My partner is always unsettled by deaths in the family.  I mean, who isn't?  That sounds stupid. Of course he's unsettled by deaths. But, because he's older, every time someone of his generation dies, he is convinced he's the next to go.

So when I listen to this track, I imagine waking up next to my partner and sharing that moment of drowsy forgetfulness, which morphs into the sad realization that someone we love is gone.  And this song, for me, becomes: "Good morning. It's your mourning."

If you're wondering how you can support me in bringing you songs and visits every day, the easiest thing you can do is tell your friends about the site. Tell anyone you know--particularly people who are isolated and enjoy music.

Readers of adult fiction can also buy my books or check them out from your local library. Supporting my AudioErotica endeavour on Patreon would also help me hugely!

I'm also an Amazon Influencer, so hopefully I can make a little pocket change when you buy stuff by clicking through my affiliate links.

But you don't HAVE to do any of that. I'm very happy to get a daily visit from you, so just keep coming back.

Oh, and I also recommend hitting the "Subscribe" button at the top of the page so you won't miss a song!

See you tomorrow!
