#SongoftheDay Bathwater (No Doubt)

I was obsessed with this song, when it came out 20 years ago. At the time, I was in love with a married man, we were deeply involved in an affair, and I was perfectly comfortable with the situation. I liked being "the other woman"--read all about it in my book AUDREY AND LAWRENCE. It's fiction, but it's pretty damn close to the truth.

"Why do the good girls always want the bad boys?"

It wasn't until I hit my midlife crisis that I was like, "Hey, you know what? I'm ready for a monogamous relationship!" Up to that point, I'd been happy with affairs and open relationships. In fact, up to that point, I'd never been able to picture myself in a monogamous relationship--and with a man, of all people!

I have very positive feelings about open relationships (and I'm not even against affairs, even though I'd be pretty gutted if my partner cheated on me--but that's mostly because I believe in honesty above all and I'd feel more betrayed by the dishonesty than the act... although I guess I'd feel betrayed by the act, too), but I found that when I was involved in open relationships, I never wanted anyone but my primary partner. So monogamy hasn't made me feel trapped like I always thought it would.

This is still pretty new to me, this whole monogamy thing. All I know is that there's something about the looming spectre of Age 40 that made me look at that old bathwater and go... I'm too old for this.

If you're wondering how you can support me in bringing you songs and visits every day, the easiest thing you can do is tell your friends about the site. Tell anyone you know--particularly people who are isolated and enjoy music.

Readers of adult fiction can also buy my books or check them out from your local library. Supporting my AudioErotica endeavour on Patreon would also help me hugely!

I'm also an Amazon Influencer, so hopefully I can make a little pocket change when you buy stuff by clicking through my affiliate links.

But you don't HAVE to do any of that. I'm very happy to get a daily visit from you, so just keep coming back.

Oh, and I also recommend hitting the "Subscribe" button at the top of the page so you won't miss a song!

See you tomorrow!
Giselle
