#SongoftheDay Sweat A La La La La Long (Inner Circle)
I woke up in a pool of sweat at three in the morning. This is not unusual, but last night's sweat far exceeded the amount of sweat I've sweated on previous occasions. The sheets felt wet beneath me. I could not go back to sleep on them.
Fortunately, there is a spare bedroom at my partner's house. Unfortunately, I feel guilty when I use it. I feel bad for leaving him alone in bed. But I really had no choice last night. The sheets were gross. I had to go.
After I'd spent the rest of the night in the cool, crisp, DRY sheets of the spare room, I heard my partner starting his day. I got up and apologized for abandoning him.
He had no idea what I was talking about. He didn't realize I'd left the bed.
Okay, so maybe next time I soak the sheets with sweat, I won't worry so much about heading into the spare room.
By the way, it's wild writing to you about perimenopausal night sweats while listening to a song that came out when I was in my early teens. I've gone from puberty to second puberty, but when I hear a song of this era, I am exactly the youngster I was back then: dancing with my cousin, imitating the fly girls from In Living Color, innocent and ugly and having the time of my life.
