#SongoftheDay Some Kind of Wonderful (The Drifters)

Yesterday, my partner's neighbours brought home the most beautiful baby I've seen in my entire life. We happened to be out on the balcony when they arrived, as was another neighbour in our building.

In non-Covid times, they surely would have been greeted by friends and family. All sorts of people who'd known them for more than two years would have been there at the door to mark the occasion: carrying that little bundle of joy into the apartment for the first time. It's a special moment.  The air was electric as we greeted the blissful new mom.

But that's just it: we were the ones greeting mom and dad and baby.  Neighbours.  Just neighbours.  Not even friends.  Just people you wave to as you come and go, or stop to chat with when there's nothing going on.

My partner was bummed on their behalf, that they had to come home to us--just us.  But here's my take: at least they had someone there to greet them.  Someone is better than no one.  And, of course, we all offered different ways we could help them out, which is useful and practical.  You're not going to call someone who lives five hours away when you need help carrying something up your stairs, especially if you've got neighbours right there in your building who are willing to do it (and don't have much going on in their lives).

It was a very special moment that I wanted to share with you.

If you're wondering how you can support me in bringing you songs and visits every day, the easiest thing you can do is tell your friends about the site. Tell anyone you know--particularly people who are isolated and enjoy music.

Readers of adult fiction can also buy my books or check them out from your local library. Supporting my AudioErotica endeavour on Patreon would also help me hugely!

I'm also an Amazon Influencer, so hopefully I can make a little pocket change when you buy stuff by clicking through my affiliate links.

But you don't HAVE to do any of that. I'm very happy to get a daily visit from you, so just keep coming back.

See you tomorrow!
Giselle
