#SongoftheDay Evolution of Star Trek Series Music Theme (VioDance)

I wonder if you've ever experienced this: you're in a relationship, or even a friendship, and you get interested in something the other person is into, and after a while you start asking yourself if you're genuinely interested in this thing, or if you only like it because they do.

That's how I felt about Star Trek, when I was in a relationship with Sweet. Sweet was a hardcore Trekker (not Trekkie!). I watched various Star Treks at her house, while we were dating, because that's all that was ever on.

I watched TNG in the 90s because it was on every day in syndication and I thought Patrick Stewart was hot af. I'm not sure I ever asked myself whether I liked the show, even once I'd seen every episode multiple times.

A few years ago, I started watching Voyager on Netflix. Even then, I couldn't decide whether I liked the show, or whether I was just lonely.

Last night, I realized I'd bailed during Season 3, for no reason in particular, and I had that craving feeling of really wanting to watch the show again. So I did. And I liked it. I've decided that I do genuinely like it. I'm not usually big on sci-fi, but I tend to like ensemble shows. I can't perfectly describe why I enjoy Voyager, or why I watched the entire series of TNG multiple times (beyond @SirPatStew), but I guess it has to do with the relationships between the characters, and the thinly-veiled social commentary metaphors that arise in the plots.

I'm going to copy and paste the time stamps on the Star Trek Themes medley from YouTube, in case you're not familiar with all of them. I sure wasn't. Voyager has my favourite theme:

- 0:00 Star Trek: The Original Series - 0:37 Star Trek: The Next Generation - 1:23 Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - 2:02 Star Trek: Voyager - 3:06 Star Trek: Enterprise - 3:47 Star Trek: Discovery - 4:32 Star Trek: Picard

If you're wondering how you can support me in bringing you songs and visits every day, the easiest thing you can do is tell your friends about the site. Tell anyone you know--particularly people who are isolated and enjoy music.

Readers of adult fiction can also buy my books or check them out from your local library. Supporting my AudioErotica endeavour on Patreon would also help me hugely!

I'm also an Amazon Influencer, so hopefully I can make a little pocket change when you buy stuff by clicking through my affiliate links.

But you don't HAVE to do any of that. I'm very happy to get a daily visit from you, so just keep coming back.

Oh, and I also recommend hitting the "Subscribe" button at the top of the page so you won't miss a song!

See you tomorrow!
