#SongoftheDay Tiny Bubbles (Don Ho)

I was just telling my sister this tale, so I guess I'll tell you too. It's yet another story about feeling old.

A couple months ago, I played this song for a twenty-something friend of mine. She could not stop laughing. I don't think she heard half the song because she was laughing so hard.  She'd never heard Tiny Bubbles before. She'd never even heard OF it.

I said to her: Remember on The Simpsons, when Homer sings "Writhing Funzos/ In my sack/ Makes me happy/ Makes me hurt my back"? That's based on this!

She gave me this blank stare and it took a moment for me to realize this cultural reference that was so salient to my generation meant absolutely nothing to her. She had no idea what I was talking about. Not only had she never heard of this song from the 60s--she wasn't familiar with my cool contemporary 90s reference either!

So there you have it. Just one more story about feeling old. But this one made my sister feel old, too, so it's a double-whammy of oldness.

If you're wondering how you can support me in bringing you songs and visits every day, the easiest thing you can do is tell your friends about the site. Tell anyone you know--particularly people who are isolated and enjoy music.

Readers of adult fiction can also buy my books or check them out from your local library. Supporting my AudioErotica endeavour on Patreon would also help me hugely!

I'm also an Amazon Influencer, so hopefully I can make a little pocket change when you buy stuff by clicking through my affiliate links.

But you don't HAVE to do any of that. I'm very happy to get a daily visit from you, so just keep coming back.

Oh, and I also recommend hitting the "Subscribe" button at the top of the page so you won't miss a song!

See you tomorrow!
Giselle
