#SongoftheDay Queen of the May (Veda Hille)

Before May is out, I want to feature this track. Because it's got "May" in the name.

I do have a story about it.

When I first saw this video, something about it spoke to me. I remember sending it to my former girlfriend (before we were a couple), thinking it would woo her, somehow. I can't quite speak for my thought process, as this was well over a decade ago.

We worked together at the time, and I remember going in the next day and asking her, "Did you get my email? I sent it at three in the morning. It's a music video. You might like it."

Another girl walked into our conversation, asking, "A music video? Whose music? Would I like it?"

I remember being so irritated, wanting to tell this extraneous girl to leave us alone. I was trying to flirt.

Oddly enough, a ten-year relationship started with this video. That relationship ended the way the song does, come to think of it. Metaphorically.

I went to a play at the Tarragon and the program contained a little insert advertising a musical based on the Pushkin verse novel Eugene Onegin. One of the composers was? You guessed it: Veda Hille. I nearly jumped out of my shoes, because I was just about to release my book Tragic Coolness, which is my own adaptation of Onegin.

Spooky.

If you're wondering how you can support me in bringing you songs and visits every day, the easiest thing you can do is tell your friends about the site. Tell anyone you know--particularly people who are isolated and enjoy music.

Readers of adult fiction can also buy my books or check them out from your local library. Supporting my AudioErotica endeavour on Patreon would also help me hugely!

I'm also an Amazon Influencer, so hopefully I can make a little pocket change when you buy stuff by clicking through my affiliate links.

But you don't HAVE to do any of that. I'm very happy to get a daily visit from you, so just keep coming back.

Oh, and I also recommend hitting the "Subscribe" button at the top of the page so you won't miss a song!

See you tomorrow!
Giselle
