#SongoftheDay Soul & Inspiration (The Righteous Brothers)

Last year I told you the story of coming home from a concert on New Year's Eve and my partner dancing me around the apartment to Unchained Melody.

This year we had to stay home, obviously. Everyone did. I wanted to do something special for my partner, so I decided to make him his favourite food: brie en croute with cranberries.

Remember when baked brie was super popular 10 or 20 years ago and you could buy a frozen one at the supermarket? Well, you can't anymore. I tried. So I had to take a chance and make this thing myself.

I have never worked with puff pastry. I've seen it done on the Best British Baking Competition Show Or Whatever It's Called I'm Too Lazy To Google It But Not Too Lazy To Type All These Words. Those are good bakers, on that show, and even they have trouble with puff pastry, so I knew I wouldn't be starting from scratch.

Fortunately, you can now buy sheets of frozen puff pastry at the supermarket. Also fortunately, I had two gift cards to spend on fancy foods for staying home. I bought myself expensive olives, and I bought all the brie stuff for my partner.

I followed an internet recipe, and by the time I got my brie thing on a cookie sheet, I'd abandoned all hope.

The moment I put that brie in the oven, Unchained Melody came on.  My partner danced me romantically around the kitchen. I, unfortunately, had been drinking shots of Crown Royal while putting the brie thing together, so one of my legs decided it wasn't moving, and my head got stuck in an inconvenient upright position. I spent the whole dance laughing.

I have a knack for ruining romance (if you've read any of my books, you know what I mean), but I hope I made up for it by creating a surprisingly edible baked brie for my honey.

Since I played Unchained Melody for you last year, I'll share a different Righteous Brothers track today. It's a good one, too.

If you're wondering how you can support me in bringing you songs and visits every day, the easiest thing you can do is tell your friends about the site. Tell anyone you know--particularly people who are isolated and enjoy music.

Readers of adult fiction can also buy my books or check them out from your local library. Supporting my AudioErotica endeavour on Patreon would also help me hugely!

I'm also an Amazon Influencer, so hopefully I can make a little pocket change when you buy stuff by clicking through my affiliate links.

But you don't HAVE to do any of that. I'm very happy to get a daily visit from you, so just keep coming back.

Oh, and I also recommend hitting the "Subscribe" button at the top of the page so you won't miss a song!

See you tomorrow!
